If you have a winning ticket for any New York Lottery draw game, you have 365 days from the date of the winning draw to claim your prize. Scratch-offs must be claimed within one year of the game end date.

You must check your tickets and come forward before the deadline, otherwise you will miss out on any prizes you would have been due. The method for claiming your prize depends on how much you have won:

  • If you win a prize up to and including $600, you can claim it by taking your winning ticket to any New York Lottery retailer. Alternatively, mail your entry directly to the NY Lottery or claim at a Customer Service Center.
  • If you win $601 or more, you can claim by mail or from a Customer Service Center.

Mail-In Claims

You can claim prizes of any value by mailing in your winning ticket to the address shown below:
New York Lottery
PO Box 7533
Schenectady, NY 12301-7533

If you win more than $600, you need to complete a claim form and send it in along with your winning ticket. Make sure you fill in your details on the back of the ticket and make copies of all the documents. You will also need to include a valid form of government-issued identification.

It is recommended that you use registered mail and include a return address. Mail-in claims must be postmarked 24 hours before the winning ticket’s expiry date.

Claims in Person

All prizes up to and including $600 can be claimed from a licensed NY Lottery store. You do not need to complete a claim form but you need to present the original winning ticket to be validated.

If you are claiming more than $600 in person, you need to provide a claim form, valid form of ID and your winning ticket. Visit one of the Customer Support Centers shown below. You will need to schedule an appointment, as walk-in claims are not accepted at the current time. If you do not have an appointment, you can drop signed winning tickets – along with a completed claim form and a copy of your ID – in the secure drop box located at the Long Island Customer Service Center.

Hand sanitizer dispensers and washing stations are located throughout the casino as are disinfecting wipes.

Empire City Casino Senior Vice President of Operations and CFO Ed Domingo called it an “unbelievable' feeling to have staff members and customers back. The top priority for the casino is to keep everyone healthy, he said.

“It was a long time coming here in Yonkers and Westchester County,” Domingo said.

Evelyn Garcia, of The Bronx, was one of the customers who came back Monday.

“I’ve been locked up for six months,” she said.

The casino, which is the largest private employer in Yonkers, furloughed about 1,000 workers in May as the virus kept Empire City's doors closed.

MGM CEO and President Bill Hornbuckle in a May 5 letter called the furloughs 'the most challenging period ever faced by our company and industry' and said he was unsure how many employees would return before the end of the year.

The company has welcomed back more than half if its workforce for the reopening, a spokesperson told The Journal News/lohud.

MGM Resorts bought Empire City Casino and Yonkers Raceway in early 2019 for $850 million.
